The Lamb was packed out last Saturday for an acoustic show, with people occupying the room from the performance area to out the door. What was all the fuss about? Sheer Music brought the best performers from around the Wiltshire area as well as political singer songwriter Chris T-T.

First on the bill was Plummie; front man of the Swindon based band The Racket. He opened the night with stylish original material which oozed vibes and sounded like The Kooks and Paolo Nutini. Next was Jamie Coupe, who as a performer is well established within the Devizes area including packed shows in the town and a live Fantasy Radio Session.

His performance showed off his ability as a singer songwriter to create individualistic covers as well as his own material.

The Rivermen then performed their set of harmonic and melodic folk songs, accumulated from their years of musicianship and their three studio albums. This was enjoyed by all members of the audience, young and old. They performed songs with political and spiritual messaging which complemented the evening’s headliner, Chris T-T.

Chris, who is a well established musician and singer/songwriter, performed a professional and imaginative set. His sound and musical drive was mainly political but his manner of performing them light-hearted. His composed on-stage style meant he could sing about serious issues in a manner which was enjoyable and entertaining for the audience.

Chris also performed songs from his concept EP about a Fraggle who lived underneath Jeremy Clarkson’s lighthouse! This was a particularly enjoyable section of his set as it really demonstrated Chris’s musicianship and ability to tell a story in music. Overall the buzz which was felt on the evening and the feeling of the audience truly reflected the quality of the gig.
