I CAME home from town yesterday to see a neighbour – a lady in her mid-90s – turning out her plastic and cardboard wheelie bin, as someone had put a load of rubbish in it.
We tipped it out, sorted it and I now have a big bag of rubbish in my general waste bin.
Her bin had soil/compost in it from bags put in, and there was packaging from a Fireflex flue liner, and other rubbish too.
How selfish can some people be? Funnily enough, there is a skip in a neighbour’s garden. Why didn’t the dumper put it in there?
I have no doubt that this is not the only incident of its kind, and won’t be the last, but please, whoever you are, use your own bins, compress your rubbish down to get more in, or take it to the recycling centre.
AlsoOn the subject of rubbish, it would be nice if the roads and pavements were still swept, but as this is no longer done by the council, could people not just clean up outside their own houses? It is something my parents always did, and I have been doing it for the last 45 years and will continue to do so as long as I am able.
Finally, the litter pick in the Donkey Field was good but I have picked up a carrier bag of rubbish every school day since. I say no more.
