ONCE again we are being asked to contribute to East Africa famine relief.
When the public has contributed £5 million the government will contribute a similar amount. As we contribute £12 billion or more to overseas aid one wonders why a more significant sum cannot be paid from this source. 
One reads of large grants being made to such projects as an Ethiopian dance group or Nepalese youngsters being taught to fly drones and one wonders whether we have got our priorities right.
