TV PRESENTER, actor and BBC 6 Music DJ Craig Charles will be swapping the cobbles of Coronation Street for the nightlife of Westbury as he is set to open and perform at this year’s Westbury Music and Arts Festival.
Best known for appearing on TV show Red Dwarf amongst others, Mr Charles will be performing a live funk and soul DJ set on September 25 at Club Ice, Quartermaster Road, to open the sixth running of the festival.
Continuing until October 11, a number of venues throughout Westbury including the West End Baptist Church, The Laverton and Leighton House will be used to showcase the best in music and art.
Festival chairman Ian Cunningham said: “We are delighted that The Westbury Music and Arts Festival is now attracting some big names in the world of show business.
“The festival hosts a number of events covering several genres from folk to classical, choral, pop and rock.
“I’m glad to see we can add some funk/hip hop and soul to this year’s event.
“Craig’s Funk and Soul Show, attracts an audience of all ages and his sell out shows have received excellent reviews and we are delighted to have him perform here in Westbury.”
