WILTSHIRE College have announced the appointment of Amanda Burnside as Principal, after she has been Acting Principal for the past 15 months.

The announcement said that during that time she has made significant changes to improve the student experience through greater investment in teaching and learning strategies.

Helen Birchenough, who is chairman of the Corporation for Wiltshire College, announced the news at the end of year staff awards and added: “This follows a very successful 15 months and I know you will all join me in congratulating Amanda.”

Ms Burnside joined the College, which has campuses at Trowbridge, Chippenham, Lackham and Salisbury, in March 2014, from Swindon College.

She said: “It is a privilege to take on the permanent role of principal at a college which is on such an upwards trajectory and which has great growth potential across the county of Wiltshire and the wider region.”
