TWO women were taken to hospital after a crash involving a lorry and a car which blocked the A303 at Mere today.
Traffic was reported to be queuing traffic westbound between The Cleeve junction and the B3095 Chetcombe Road junction.
Congestion reached the A350 junction while emergency services were at the scene and recovery work was taking place.
A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman said that a rapid response vehicle and two ambulances were sent to the scene after a call at about 2pm.
The women were taken to Salisbury District Hospital, one suffering from back injuries and the other having head injuries.
A man involved in the crash was treated at the scene for back injuries.
