BOX duo Sue Cooke and Alex Jacobs have qualified for the final of the ladies national pairs championship at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, writes DAVE EATON.
In this morning’s semi-finals they beat Wigton Cumbria’s Penny Peile and carol Baxter 21-15.
They will face in this afternoon’s final Cambridgeshire’s Sue Alexander and England international Ellen Falkner from the Littleport club.
In the other semi-final this morning Alexander and Falkner beat Emma Thurston and Pat Reynolds (Parkway, Peterborough, Hunts) 23-17.
Cooke and Jacobs had booked their place in the last four on Friday afternoon with a comfortable 22-9 victory over Stute (Ilkeston, Derbys) pairing of Helen Broughton and Joanne Shelton in round four (quarter-finals).
Cooke and Jacobs are previous national winners of the national pairs championship indoors.
