POLICE and ambulance crews were at the scene of a crash between a three-vehicle crash the M4 eastbound this morning.
Two of the three lanes were closed because of the incident between Junction 17 for Chippenham and Cirencester and Junction 16 for Swindon West and Marlborough.
Police, who were called at 5.40am, said a white Ford Transit van, an Audi A5 and another car were involved.
The van driver, a man in his 50s, and two others were taken to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance.
One suffered head injuries while the two others are believed to have suffered minor injuries.
South Western Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and its hazardous area response team to the scene.
All lanes have now been reopened and, although normal traffic conditions were expected after 8.30am, drivers were still being severely delayed for some time afterwards.
