I THINK other readers would be interested to know that political correctness is alive and well in County Hall, Trowbridge.
My daughter-in-law took my baby grandson to the library for a nursery rhyme session with other young mothers and babies. They sit in a circle and sing along. They were happily getting into the swing of Baa Baa Black Sheep when they all stopped singing and there was a stunned silence when the lady leading the group substituted black for green. Baa Baa Green Sheep.
How ridiculous and who exactly was going to be offended by the description of a black sheep – there are a lot of them running around the fields of our country. I did not know that such a creature as a green sheep existed.
