Emergency services were called to Hilperton after a car crashed on Wyke Road last night.

Paramedics and a fire crew from Trowbridge helped one casualty out of the car following the crash, which took place at 11.30pm on Friday evening.

A spokesman from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: "One casualty was quickly released from a vehicle with the assistance of the ambulance service. Melksham were also mobilised to attend but were stood down en route and made available for other fire calls, as they were no longer required once the casualty was released."

A South West Ambulance Services spokesman said: "We were called at 23:20 to an RTC.  We attended with an ambulance and one patient was taken to Royal United Hospital."
