TWO people have been arrested following a drugs warrant in Westbury this morning (March 6).

Police officers, with the help of Tri-Force Firearms Officers and a Wiltshire Tri-Force specialist drugs dog forced entry to a house in Criollo Court to carry out the warrant earlier this morning.

A 26 year old man and a 26 year old woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Sergeant Kevin Harmsworth said: "I would urge members of the public who suspect drug activity in their area to report it to police because, as this warrant shows, we will act on any community intelligence we receive.

“This was a positive result, two people have been arrested and drugs removed from the streets.

“Drug use can affect not just those directly involved, but the wider community too, as it can often be associated with anti-social behaviour, violence, and other criminal behaviour.”

It was newly qualified specialist drugs dog Boris’s first operational search, his handler PC Simon Goodwin said: “This was our first operational search together and I’m delighted at the result.

"Boris located drugs with a perfect indication which resulted in the arrest of two suspects at the address.

"This was a combined effort and the result of excellent team work with local Community Policing Team officers, proactive unit and firearms colleagues."

Anyone wishing to report drug activity can do so by calling 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
