DONATIONS are being welcomed by the landlord of a Southwick pub as its defibrillator needs to be replaced.

Adam Glass, of the Farmhouse Inn, Frome Road, is hopeful that locals can contribute towards the pub’s efforts to buy a new £2,100 defibrillator as the life saving equipment needs replacing after four years.

A recent pub quiz raised £200 to bring the total up to £800 but Mr Glass is calling on the public to help the cause.

“The community helped us to buy a defibrillator four years ago and hopefully the generous public can help us once again,” he said.

“These bits of equipment are really important. I was brought up in Bromham and there are four or five defibrillators there and I think there needs to be more here too.

“We are hosting a bingo night and a racing night later this year but if people can chip in it would be much appreciated.”
