VINTAGE motorcycle enthusiasts and pub goers have helped to raise more than £738 for charities that help to reduce isolation and loneliness in older people.

All proceeds from a rally by more than a dozen bikers will go to Age UK Wiltshire, an independent charity offering support and friendship to isolated older people in their own homes, and LinkAge Network Bristol to raise awareness of the ‘say NO to loneliness campaign’ to reduce isolation and loneliness in older people.

Ideal TradeCo, the owners of The Old Crown at Kelston near Bath, The Inn at Freshford and the Cross Guns at Avoncliff, invited vintage bike owners to visit the three local pubs during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Director Rozi Hempstead said: “We have managed to raise just over £738 from the charity Vintage Motorbike Rally, which is absolutely fantastic.

“It is quite a sight seeing lots of vintage motorbikes congregating in the car park before heading off.”
