AFTER weeks of planning, Westbury Town Council, in partnership with English Heritage, Natural England, Westbury Rotary Club and Westbury Rugby Football Club are pleased to announce that the cleaning of the Westbury White Horse is planned to take place on the weekend of June 23 and 24.
Volunteers have stepped forward to take on the challenge and are being given a helping hand by Idverde and Hire Standards, two companies based on the White Horse Trading estate who are offering sponsorship.
A volunteer briefing will be held at The Laverton on Saturday from 9am-12pm.
It will involve a presentation of the planned event over the two days followed by an allocation of tasks and schedules. Refreshments will be available.
The town council is still looking for more local sponsors to get involved.
A spokesman said: “There are many jobs that need to be undertaken, from the cleaning to stewarding a safety cordon, so please come along on June 16 and see where you can help the team to rejuvenate Westbury’s iconic landmark.”
