A BRADFORD on Avon-based travel agent is to sponsor the town’s football club’s away kit for next season.

Holidays & Cruises Ltd of Silver Street will also sponsor Bradford on Avon Town FC’s travel to away matches.

The sponsorship is worth thousands of pounds as the club was paying commercial rates for travel to away fixtures last season.

The club narrowly missed out on promotion after finishing fourth in the Toolstation Western Premier League.

New manager Rob Mallett, who came from Kingswood in Bristol, is hoping to gain promotion next season in his first year in charge of the squad.

Club chairman Mark Hodkinson said: “It’s great to have local businesses getting involved in the club.

“We’re hoping that Holidays & Cruises will drive us to promotion next season, starting in August.”

Holidays & Cruises director Steve Plummer said: “We are delighted to be supporting our local team, who came so close to winning promotion last season.

“We look forward to joining Moulton Bicycle Company in sponsoring the club.

“We’re sure that with a new manager and a fresh crop of players hungry for success the club can gain promotion in the coming year.”

The sponsorship deal will cover all of the club’s weekend away fixtures.

Holiday & Cruises has agreed to provide a 53-seater coach for the away games at a cost of £485. This will be paid back in the form of sponsorship for the ground.

If the total travel time is greater than 12 hours, the sponsorship to be paid could rise to £585.

The club will use the coach whenever players need to travel to away games with a total distance of more than 100 miles.

The deal will not cover some evening games where pick up and drop off would clash with the travel agency’s existing work commitments.

In return, Bradford on Avon Town FC has agreed to promote Holiday & Cruises on the back of the coach and on all of the social media sites that it uses.
