TROWBRIDGE firefighters are currently involved in an operation to rescue a deer which has got stuck on the bank of the River Biss, downstream from the Town Bridge
Officers were alerted to the animal's plight just before 6pm, and are currently waiting for the animal rescue unit to arrive from Stratton near Swindon.
It is not thought the deer is injured, but it appears to have got stuck on the bank and needs help to make its way to safety.
