The family of a young motorcyclist who died in a road accident are doing a charity sky dive for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Alex Brown died last August after his motorbike was involved in an accident near the Crockerton roundabout.

His family, who live in Wylye, want to thank the air ambulance for their efforts on the scene by raising money for the service.

Alex’s mum Lorraine said: “They came to the rescue for Alex. They took him to Southampton General Hospital.

“Without that help, we wouldn’t have had the five days we had to say our farewells.”

Alex’s dad Graham, brother Barry and fianceé Lauren Martin will be doing the dive on September 16 at the Old Sarum in Salisbury.

The family are hoping to raise £15,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance, having already received £5,000 in donations.

Mr Brown said: “As we are jumping from 15,000ft we thought it was a suitable fundraising target.

“It is something that Alex wanted to do himself. It has been an incredibly tough year and this is a way of fulfilling his ambition.”

Mrs Brown has already taken part in several fundraisers in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and has raised a total of around £6,000.

Along with her friends and colleagues, she completed the Wiltshire Monster Race which involved one of the biggest obstacle courses in the south west and a mud run.

She also took part in the Wiltshire Big Wheel Bike Ride, cycling 45 miles.

Mrs Brown added: “We are so grateful for all the support.”
