A MOTHER and son felt the wind rushing through what was left of their hair after braving the shave at Larkrise Community Farm near West Ashton on Tuesday.

Damian Chilcott, of Langley Burrell, has been going to the farm, off West Ashton Road, for the last 17 years, since he was 20.

As a thank you to them, Damian, who has severe learning difficulties and a condition called phenylketonuria that results in a decreased metabolism of amino acids, and his mum Lorraine Payne had buzz cuts to raise funds for the farm. That total has nearly reached £700.

“I am proud of Damian. We were a bit nervous before but it looks alright,” she said.

“I want to thank everyone for donating and for their support.

“It is great to give something back to this wonderful place.”
