A WESTBURY website designer’s business has been chosen by Theo Paphitis as one of six winners in the entrepreneur’s Small Business Sunday competition.

Richard Shire, 23, from Dursley Road, Westbury, built his first website seven years ago after leaving Matravers School and since then has been providing small businesses with quality designs.

His business Aspire Shire, which was set up in July 2017, has now been spotted by the Dragon and business giant Theo Paphitis.

He said: “I got a message from Theo’s team that I had been selected for a networking day next February.

“I have been told to produce a portfolio of all my work that will hopefully persuade investors to buy into and expand my company.”

Richard currently works on his own, helping businesses such as OJC fitness in Trowbridge and Rachel Williams’ artistic company in Bradford on Avon.

He added: “Rather than go to uni I decided to teach myself.

“I have always been fascinated about how websites work and how different companies use them.”
