ELLIOT Pinson experienced mixed fortunes during round seven of the British Superbikes Dickies Junior Supersport Championships at Oulton Park at the weekend.

The Cheshire venue is a place of bitter reflection for Pinson, who last year broke his leg during a nasty start line incident in May – ending his season prematurely.

After qualifying fifth for race one, Pinson suffered from brake problems and quickly lost touch with the leading duo in the battle for third.

After an incident which meant he ran off the track, the Wiltshire youngster re-joined the race to finish fifth.

The demons of last year were put to bed by Pinson during race two after a race long battle involving three riders.

Determined to register valuable championship points, Pinson raced to the chequered flag to record his third race win of the season – taking his podium tally to 12.

The final round of the series takes place at Brands Hatch on October 12-14.
