OVER £1,000 was raised for two great causes at Holt’s annual Safari Supper run by members of the community.
The Safari Supper, organised by Meg Slade, her husband Andy and other villagers, sends paying participants to 10 different residents’ houses for a starter, another 10 houses for a main course and a final 10 people’s homes for pudding.
This year the event was held in memory of Holt resident Dr Steven Rowlands and £1,200 was raised for Lymphoma Action and Diabetes UK.
Mrs Slade said: “I love putting on the Safari Supper events, everyone has a lot of fun and it is a painless way of raising money for great causes.
“We have had great feedback, especially from newcomers who have found it a great way to meet other couples.
“Myself and my husband were very close to Steven, we have known him as long as we have lived in Holt, which is 21 years.
“I am very pleased with the amount we have raised.”
