ONE of Bradford on Avon’s major employers has given the town £10,000 to restore and maintain play areas at Culver Close and Victory Field.

The town council’s town development committee welcomed the £10,000 from A B Dynamics at a recent meeting.

The move follows the recent transfer of Culver Close from Wiltshire Council to Bradford on Avon Town Council as part of an asset management agreement.

Cllr Simon McNeill-Ritchie said it was most welcome and would help the council enormously, adding: “We have just completed the asset transfer from Wiltshire Council, as a result of which A B Dynamics has gifted the town £10,000.

“It will be used to restore and maintain the play areas at Culver Close and Victory Field for the benefit of both residents and visitors.

“This is the way that towns like us, who don’t enjoy a great deal of revenue from the taxation system, are able to take on and manage activities and amenities like this which are of great value to the local community.”

Anthony Best, the founder of AB Dynamics, which recently moved along the Holt Road to larger new premises on the edge of the Kingston Farm development, said: “We are pleased to support the local community in this way as we consider play areas to be so valuable for encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle in children.”

AB Dynamics has been based in Bradford on Avon since 1986. The company also sponsors Wiltshire Music Centre and the Bradford on Avon Cycling Festival. It supplies track and laboratory testing equipment and systems, including state-of-the-art driving simulators, to 25

vehicle manufacturing companies worldwide.
