WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for any drivers who were in the Erlestoke prison area yesterday who have dash cams fitted to their vehicles to get in touch.

This appeal is part of their investigation into an incident which occurred at the prison yesterday afternoon.

Shortly after 3pm, a man was seen to run up to the prison fence line and throw a small white parcel into the prison.

The man then headed back from the fence and into the road. It is believed he ran in between vehicles.

Det Con Cerys Powell said: "We believe the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and black trousers.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who was driving in the area and may have a dash cam fitted to their vehicle which could have footage of the suspect - this would be really useful to our investigation.

"The package was retrieved by staff and sent for forensic analysis. Our enquiries remain ongoing."

Anyone who can help should call police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54180103590.
