AMATEUR artist Andrea Cryer from Bradford on Avon has failed in her bid to reach the semi-final of this year’s Landscape Artist of the Year competition.

She was eliminated from the final three in the third heat after competing against eight artists and alongside a further 50 ‘wildcard’ artists.

Her painting depicting Loch Fyne was screened on Tuesday (October 30) on the Sky Arts channel.

Brian Ramsey won the heat and goes on to the semi-final on Felixstowe Docks, being screened on November 27.

The series is hosted by new co-presenter, actor and art-lover Stephen Mangan alongside Joan Bakewell.
