POLICE are asking for help from te public to identify a man they'd like to speak to in connection with an incident in Trowbridge.

At 11pm on September 28, a 43-year-old woman was walking in the area of Castle Street near to the Kings Arms pub when she became aware of a group of men who she did not know shouting abuse at her.

When the woman took out her mobile phone to take a picture of the men involved, they assaulted her by pulling her hair and kicking her. They attempted to grab her mobile phone, which was damaged during the incident.

She attended hospital in Trowbridge following the incident.

It is believed there were approximately 10 males in the group and they are believed to be Polish.

PC Scott Ranachan said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident since we received the report but unfortunately have been unable to identify those involved.

“We are hopeful that a member of the public may recognise this man either through his clothing or his stance.

“Understandably the victim in this case is very upset and distressed by what happened and we would urge anyone with information to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54180091850.”
