HUNDREDS of homes in Chippenham are suffering a power cut this evening (Sunday, November 11) after a car crashed into a telegraph pole.
Emergency services were called to Malmesbury Road at 3.39pm after a Ford car collided with the pole near the Long Ridings junction. It is understood, the occupants of the vehicle were unhurt.
Engineers from Scottish & Southern Energy have been working since 3.42pm to restore power to six districts in the SN15 postcode area affected by the outage. Power is expected to be restored by midnight.
A SSE spokesman said: “Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.
