POLICE will move into an empty town centre shop tomorrow.

The Christmas pop-up policing point will open almost four years after Wiltshire Police moved its town centre policing point from Henry Street to offices on Euclid Street shared with the borough council.

As well as police officers, the pop-up shop will be staffed by representatives from the council and addiction experts Turning Point.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We’re taking up temporary residence in Swindon’s Brunel Centre, Canal Walk - opposite Starbucks - and opening up shop to offer seasonal advice to the public about keeping safe and helping to prevent crime in the run up to Christmas.

“Turning Point, Swindon Borough Council and InSwindon will also be on hand for advice and support.”

The Canal Walk shop will be open 10am-2pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between November 19 and December 22.
