THE Mighty Titans team from New Era Fitness in Melksham have raised a massive £20,000 for the Wiltshire MIND charity to help people with mental health problems.
The 15-strong team raised the cash from a sponsored 1,000-mile run from Land’s End to John O’ Groats in July and August.
Team leader and New Era Fitness founder DJ Hussey said: “We had an amazing evening on Friday at The Farmhouse Inn, Southwick, celebrating our 1,000-mile run in support of Wiltshire MIND.
“We raised exactly £20,000 for the charity, which we are all totally blown away with.
“At times we worried that we wouldn’t even make our original £10,000 target so to double it is overwhelming.”
Team members presented a £19,406.12 cheque to Carolyn Beale, the Wiltshire MIND chief executive.
Mr Hussey added: “A kind sponsor on the night donated the remaining amount to bring us to the magic £20,000 mark.”
