Wiltshire Mind

THE local mental health charity based in Melksham works to provide various support to the local community through nine support groups, 1-1 counselling and mental health awareness training. They also have a charity shop in Church Street Melksham.

Wiltshire Mind is not funded by the national charity Mind or by any statutory authorities in Wiltshire and so supports local people with limited resources.

They are now looking for qualified counsellors who would like to volunteer for the charity and support people in the local community. Wiltshire Mind has an established counselling service which operates between 9am-3pm, Mondays to Wednesdays and also between 5-8pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

They are hoping to find volunteers who could provide three sessions of counselling per week either at the office in Melksham or in an office in Trowbridge. They would need to have obtained at least a Level 4 diploma in Counselling or equivalent.

In return for volunteers' support, Wiltshire Mind will provide 1.5 hours of supervision per month, two hours of free room hire per week and at least 15 hours of face-to-face CPD per year.

The charity hopes to attract counsellors who want to build up hours towards accreditation at the same time as delivering a service to the local community.
