Thousands of people visited the Christmas market last weekend to do a bit of festive shopping whilst in town for the big switch on of the Trowbridge Christmas lights.

Organised by events group Cow Parsley, the market saw various stalls selling all kinds of drink including gin, beer, wine and spirits, food such as mince pies and other winter warmers and of course traditional gifts and decorations.

Wane Hattey-Palmer-Jones of Cow Parsley said: "It was really great, from when we opened at 10 in the morning to when we shut at six in the evening it was just constant crowds coming in, it was so busy all day.

"I think about 3000 people came and looked around, we had 85 exhibitors and lots of them ran out of stock which was great.

"It worked really well having it on the same date as the Christmas light switch on, it really brought people in.

"Many of our stall holders had never done anything like tis before, and some were launching a new business which was good to see."
