TELEVISION star Fred Dinenage MBE, known for his long stint as news anchor on ITV Meridian, joined Trowbridge retirees for the official opening at McCarthy and Stone’s Applegate House retirement living development on Seymour Road, earlier this week.

Mr Dinenage visited the development to share his experiences as a presenter, and to provide an insight into some of the many breaking news stories he has reported on over the last 50 years.

The new retirement living development has been designed to offer retirees over the age of 60 and offers communal space including a large club lounge and landscaped gardens.

Mr Dinenage said: "It was a pleasure to visit Trowbridge and give a talk to staff and residents on my colourful television career.

"Applegate House provides an excellent solution for those looking to enjoy an independent and active lifestyle in retirement, and I enjoyed meeting and chatting to homeowners."
