DEVIZES MP Claire Perry visited a Melksham export firm last Friday (Dec 7) to discuss their concerns about Brexit and leaving the European Community.

The Minister for Energy and Clean Growth paid a visit to Coombe Castle International to gain feedback on how the Prime Minister’s Brexit agreement will affect local businesses.

After a factory tour, the MP met the firm’s managing director Darren Larvin, together with directors of other local companies, to discuss Brexit concerns and opportunities.

Mr Larvin said: “It’s very clear that this Brexit deal is the best available and it will enable us to maintain and grow our export business and provide certainty for our customers and staff. The consequences of leaving without a deal are simply awful.”

Ms Perry said: “I was delighted to hear their support for the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal, which offers businesses the security they need.”

Coombe Castle exports to 35 countries worldwide. It has won four Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: International Trade.
