Pupils from Westbury Leigh C of E Primary School have been busy making Roman mosaics with a local artist.
Year 4 class were recently visited by artist Joanna Dewfall who specialises in mosaic art.
Each child had the opportunity to make their very own Roman themed coaster which they designed themselves.
All children were taught how to cut each tile in to different shapes such as rectangles, squares, triangles and circles.
Some children created motif designs whilst others created repeating patterns.
A spokesman from Westbury Leigh C of E Primary School said: "The children had to be careful with their colour choices to make sure they contrasted each other enough for their patterns to stand out.
"This took patience, perseverance and a very steady hand.
"The children were wonderful."
Their finished tiles have been grouted and they were able to take them home at the end of term.
