TALENTED local artists submitted their work to scrutiny in the recent Royal Wootton Bassett & District Art Society competition, organised by its president, Phil Flowerdew.
The pictures were judged by special guest artist Bill Mather from Burbage.
The winner of the Cartoon class, featuring a caricature of someone famous, was Jean Jordan, with Jacqui Mason second and Hugh Down in third place.
For paintings depicting the chosen subject, the hottest day of the year, the winner was Jacqui Mason, with Paula Clifford second and Anthony Miles third.
Jean Jordan won the 'own version of a painting' class, with Hugh Dow second and Catriona Miles third.
Jaqui Mason was also named Artist of the Year 2018, an award based on aggregate points from the club's various competitions. The runners-up were Paula Clifford and Pat Kitching.
The society meets weekly to paint, draw, share ideas and encouragement.
