A Trowbridge and Wiltshire councillor who was a ‘role model’ for others has died aged 72.
Helen Bridget Osborn, 72, of Chepston Place, Trowbridge, died on December 18 following a long illness. She leaves two daughters, Rachel and Charlotte.
Mrs Osborn was a former Deputy Mayor of Trowbridge and also served on the West Wiltshire District Council and Wiltshire Council.
Together with her husband Jeff Osborn, who was twice Mayor of Trowbridge, and also served on the district and county councils, she was well known as a campaigner for her local community, often fighting to save services from cuts.
Liberal Democrat Cllr Steve Oldrieve, who served with Mrs Osborn on both the district and county councils, said: “She was very much what you would want from your local councillor and a role model for others.
“She put an awful lot of effort into her local community and will be sorely missed. She was one of those councillors you could always rely on to put Trowbridge first.”
