A SOMERSET man has been jailed for two years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to blackmail.

Jason Libby, aged 43, of Dickenson Road, Weston Super Mare, was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court.

Jordan Frost, aged 20, of Southwick, Mark, Highbridge, was also sentenced for his part in the conspiracy to 28 months in a detention centre.

The convictions and sentences relate to an incident in the Warminster area back in 2017.

Det Con Natalie George said: "This has been a lengthy and complex investigation by Central CID officers.

"Blackmail cases are, by their very nature, extremely complex and protracted, so I am pleased that we have been able to put these two individuals before the courts which has resulted in custodial sentences.

"I hope this court outcome provides the victim with some closure. It also highlights that Wiltshire Police will robustly investigate allegations of this nature and we would urge anyone who feels they may be a victim to contact us immediately."
