There was a light dusting of snow across Fyfield Down and the villages around Avebury last night leaving the Wiltshire countryside looking as pretty as a picture.
In Avebury the stones looked at their best in winter morning light while the Ridgeway looked perfect for an early morning hike.
The weather today will see temperatures rise to just 3C before plunging to freezing tonight - it will stay dry and bright with a chilly north or north-westerly breeze.
Snow also fell in Royal Wooton Bassett, Minety and in Lockeridge near Marlborough and on higher ground on Salisbury Plain and Marlborough Common.
