BRISTOL Airport will open an on-site waiting area for taxis, alongside a free-of-charge drop off facility for private vehicles.
The move follows concerns raised by locals about cars waiting in local roads, lanes and laybys in order to avoid paying parking charges.
It was a gripe raised in feedback over the plans by the airport to expand as people waiting to collect friends and relatives from the airport prefer to park for free on the A38 and side roads often blocking access to other road users.
The airport said they are committed to creating a waiting area for taxis, combined with a free-of-charge drop off facility for all vehicles.
It is included in the airport’s proposals for a Section 106 Agreement under expansion plans currently with North Somerset Council.
