POLICE have confirmed that the double stabbing in Trowbridge Tesco car park which left one man with life threatening injuries was drug related.
The incident happened last night at 11.15pm and one man in his 20's was taken to Southmead hospital with life threatening injures and another man in his 20's was taken to Bath RUH with minor injuries.
Officers are actively searching for the suspect but no arrests have been made at this stage.
Inspector James Williams, from Wiltshire West Community Policing Team, said: “Our enquiries into last night’s stabbings in Trowbridge are continuing, and I wanted to update the community about the investigation.
“We don’t believe this was a random attack, it appears to be linked to drug-related activity.
“That does not make it any less serious, and we will continue to have a strong policing presence in the town.
“I want people to be reassured that we have been carrying out ongoing operations with regards to knife crime and drug dealing and we know these are issues which concern local people.
“We will not tolerate this type of criminal activity and would urge anyone who can help us with this investigation to come forward and speak to police.”
