DREAMS have come true for a group of elderly residents at the Brookside care home in Melksham.

They were taken on a stretch limousine ride after The Orders of St John Care Trust made their wishes come true.

The gleaming white vehicle and a bottle of bubbly was supplied by Darren and Tracey Oram, of Elite Limousines Ltd of Melksham.

Enjoying the ride of their life were Eileen (Joy) Coleman, Diane Pease, Mary Smith, Robin McKinnon and Christopher Hellings, together with Jamie Carter, home manager, and activities co-ordinators Elena Hallett and Christine Howe.

Lyn Rendell, of Brookside, said: “Throughout this year we are doing something called Make My Wish Come True. We asked all our residents if they had one wish, what would it be?

“Wherever possible and provided it is something we are able to do, we will try to achieve it for them. Hopefully it will make them feel very special.”

On the same day we will also be taking part in the Trust’s I can’t Believe it’s a Care Home Challenge. The team at the home will be performing for the resident’s entertainment, Music through the Decades, a musical performance of songs from the 1940’s, the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s hopefully covering some favourites that the residents will remember and enjoy. Finishing with firstly a performance of I want to break free by Queen – with a routine from the housekeeping team and then a routine by our very own Spice Boys!
