A TWENTY-two year old man remains in custody this morning after being arrested on suspicion of possession of imitation gun in Trowbridge last night.
A police spokesman said: "Many residents will have noticed a large police presence in the Newtown area of Trowbridge last night – specifically in the area of Bond Street.
"We received a number of calls from the public at approximately 8.30pm reporting concerns around the behaviour of a man at an address in the area.
"Due to the nature of these concerns, a number of specially trained officers, including armed officers and the dog unit attended the scene.
"We arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. He remains in custody in Melksham for questioning at this time."
