AFTER a recent testing run of one point from four games, Devizes Town made it two wins from two in March in Toolstation League Division One with a 4-2 success at Wincanton Town at the weekend.

That victory followed up a 2-1 success away at Bishops Sutton for Darran Walters’ side a week earlier.

After a goalless first half in Somerset, Devizes upped the tempo in the second half and goals from Mark Robinson (2), Ryan Bole and Sam Dodds ensured they travelled home with the points.

Manager Walters said: “We’ve done well to win the last two games so now we’ve got a bit of confidence back in our play.

“It was 0-0 at half-time on Saturday so if you’d told me then that the game that there would be six goals, I wouldn’t have believed you.

“We played well in the second half and went 3-0 up, but then Wincanton got a goal back and at that stage you start to wonder if the worst is about to happen.

“But we got the next goal to go three goals in front again. At that stage it is game over and we were comfortable.

“At the start of the season we said we wanted to finish in the top five, but that looks like it will be beyond us.

“Given the season we’ve had and the problems in getting a regular team out each week, I think the top 10 would be a decent achievement.”

Elsewhere, Josh Bright and Zac Costello fired Corsham Town to a 2-1 win at home to Oldland Abbotonians.

Chippenham Park were beaten 2-1 at home by Sherborne Town, Calne Town went down by the same score at Radstock Town and Warminster Town lost 1-0 at Keynsham Town.
