BUDDING young readers at Walwayne Court School and Longscroft Children’s Nursery in Trowbridge were visited by an author who spoke to them about the ideas behind his latest story.
Stuart McDonald read his new book The Witches’ Tea Party to several groups of children and held a question and answer session at the end of each reading, before signing copies and handing out free bookmarks to all the children.
Headteacher Hillary MacMeekin said: “We were lucky enough to have Mr McDonald in with his book The Witches’ Tea Party which Key Stage 1 and reception loved.
“I always enjoy hearing a buzz about books and there was definitely that.”
Mr McDonald said: “The day was an amazing success.
“The children loved my book and all behaved admirably whilst I read to them. They were very excited in the Q and A sessions, which were most amusing to say the least. It was my first experience doing anything like this.”
