THE property company selling the Full Moon public house at Rudge has dropped the asking price by £30,000.

The traditional country pub in the hamlet has five letting bedrooms and a large garden, a large function room, skittle alley, flagstone floors and feature fireplace.

Colliers International says it has now been ‘priced to sell’ at £390,000 for the freehold.

With parts of the building dating back before the English Civil War, the Full Moon has been at the heart of the rural community for centuries.

It also has a function room built in 1990 that will seat about 85 people and a skittle alley.

Ed Jefferson from Colliers International’s hotels team said: “To say the Full Moon represents excellent value for money is an understatement.

“In addition to the public areas there is a spacious owner’s flat on the first floor featuring an attractive lounge, two double bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchenette. The pub has a cosy feel with intimate spaces, flagged floors and settles to set the tone.”

The village is just off the A36 and is ideally situated for local trade from nearby Rode, Beckington and Frome, as well as Westbury, Trowbridge and Warminster.

There are attractive pub gardens to front and rear with views of the countryside, making it the ideal summer pub, plus room for a marquee.

Mr Jefferson added: “Our client acquired the property in 2017 and has carried out a number of improvements.

“But as a result of a change in circumstance they have decided to sell the pub creating an excellent opportunity for somebody to take the business forward.

“The Full Moon is only lightly traded so there is obvious potential to complete the refurbishment, re-open the rooms and re-introduce a food offering.”
