The Bishop of Salisbury has said that this Friday’s prayers for Muslims will be significant throughout the world as we remember the events of last Friday in New Zealand.

Writing to the Muslim Associations in Salisbury and Trowbridge, and speaking to directly to Muslim’s throughout the Diocese, Bishop Nicholas Holtam said: “My thoughts and prayers this Friday will be with those Muslims alongside us.

"I am certain that this is true for all Christians within the Diocese of Salisbury.

"We stand together against violence and terrorism and in support of living together peacefully.

"May God bless all who remember those who died that we may learn to live together in a way that makes for peace.”
