A MAN was arrested by armed police after allegedly assaulting someone in a block of flats in Trowbridge town centre early this morning.
Commuters heading into work were shocked to see armed officers taking part in the operation on Union Street just after 8am, which focussed on St James' Chambers, the former solicitors offices which were converted into flats some years ago.
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "Officers attended a report of an assault. A 31-year-old man sustained a minor injury to his arm which required treatment at hospital.
"A 25-year-old man, who was known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody at Melksham Police Station."
