TRIBUTES have been paid to councillor Graham Payne who passed away over the weekend surrounded by friends and family.

A minutes silence was held at a full council meeting this morning and councillors spoke fondly of their colleague and friend who was lovingly known as Mr Trowbridge.

His passion for the town he represented since becoming elected in 1976 was remembered, alongside his love of his family and strong social conscious.

Today the Wiltshire flag will fly at half mast outside County hall in Trowbridge today, as a mark of respect Cllr Payne.
