TWELVE bags of litter were collected by Rotary Club of Westbury members on Saturday March 23.

Up to six Rotarians took part in the litter-pick in the car park above the White Horse at Westbury.

The 90-minute event was held to support the Great British Spring Clean Campaign.

The litter collected included a considerable number of empty bottles, some of which were broken.

Club president Mervyn Harris said: “I would like to thank Westbury Town Council for their encouragement and support and for loaning the necessary equipment.

“It would be great if other groups or individuals in Westbury can arrange litter picking in areas of their own choice.

“Keeping our environment clean is a difficult, but vital, task these days, and supporting the national Spring Clean campaign is a brilliant way of achieving tangible results.”
