SOLDIERS serving with the1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment are to be welcomed home from the Baltic to their base at Battlesbury Barracks in Warminster today (Friday 29 March).
The Armoured Infantry will mark their return from an eight-month operational deployment as lead battlegroup in Estonia as part of NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence.
CO Lt-Col Tom ‘Badger’ Miller will lead officers and soldiers on the homecoming parade, where they will be marching in front of families and friends.
The salute will be taken by the Regiment’s Colonel, Brigadier Andrew Jackson CBE.
Music will be provided by The Yorkshire Imperial Band who will be travelling down from Yorkshire for the occasion.
Visitors will also be able to see some military stands, which will include the Exotic Weapons Collection.
The Regiment’s 2nd Battalion is based at Catterick.
