KNORR-Bremse AG, the parent group of Knorr-Bremse in Melksham and Corsham, has reported that its profitable growth is expected to continue this year.
The German-owned group is a global market leader for braking systems and a leading supplier of safety-critical rail and commercial vehicle systems.
It employs around 500 people in Westinghouse Way in Melksham and at the Leafield Industrial Estate in Corsham.
Its preliminary full-year 2018 results show currency-adjusted revenues grew by 10.5 per cent. Full-year revenues rose by 7.5 per cent to £6,616 million Euros, compared to £6,154m the previous year.
Klaus Deller, Knorr-Bremse AG chief executive officer, said: “Knorr-Bremse looks back at a successful 2018 and we are pleased with the positive development of both our businesses.
“Despite uncertain and volatile markets, the demand for Knorr-Bremse rail and truck systems rose to new heights.
“We are particularly proud to have won 26 projects for metro lines in China alone.”
